Ashanti Shequoiya Doug, better known for her stage name Ashanti was born on 13 October 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Ashanti began her professional career as an teen, and was ultimately signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. She also appeared as a guest on fat Joe's What's Luv? track as well as Ja Rule's Always On Time track. Both of them have become huge hit songs. It was the first time for a female artist to take the top two spots on Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States with Foolish at number one, and the track What's Luv? What's Luv?
